Eighth Blackbird

Eighth Blackbird is a Chicago-based contemporary classical group that was founded in 1996. Deriving its name from the Wallace Stevens poem "Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird," the group oftentimes pulls influence from esoteric influences to create a sort of "call and answer" artistic conversation. The group has maintained a regular album release schedule since its beginnings and also maintains an active performance regime.
