With a simple, whimsical sound Lavender Diamond is an indie folk band that was formed in Los Angeles in 2003. Led by its ethereal frontwoman Becky Stark, who created the character Lavender Diamond for a play she co-wrote, the project evolved into a quartet and exposed its buoyant mix of indie folk and alternative pop music on its debut EP, Cavalry of Light. The 2005 record earned the band a slot at the South by Southwest music festival as well as a deal with Rough Trade Records/Matador Records. After spending 2006 playing various live shows around the US and the UK, including a short tour with The Decemberists, Lavender Diamond released its first full-length album, Imagine Our Love in 2007.
