Alasdair Fraser is a fiddler and composer from Clackmannan, Scotland who has been active since releasing his debut album, Portrait of a Scottish Fiddler, in 1982. Together with American cellist Natalie Haas, the duo creates a distinctive style of folk that bridges the Atlantic. Pulling inspiration from Scottish and American folk styles, Fraser and Haas play off each other and create songs that push the boundaries of traditional folk styles.
