Argus, hailing from Franklin, PA, is a metal band that embraces the traditional definition of the genre. The roots of the band members can be traced back to various defunct doom bands and a briefly inactive crossover thrash band. Formed in 2005, Argus went on to record their first demo a couple of years later. After a few lineup adjustments, the band solidified around vocalist Butch Balich, drummer Kevin Latchaw (formerly of Abdulla), guitarists Erik Johnson and Jason Mucio, and bassist Andy Ramage (also a member of Oh Shit They're Going to Kill Us). Signing with Shadow Kingdom Records, Argus released their self-titled debut album in 2009. With their distinctive sound, Argus continues to make their mark in the metal scene.
