The Cuarteto Casals is a string quartet that holds residency at l'Auditori in Barcelona, Spain. Formed in 1997 at the well respected music conservatory Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid, the group managed to win acclaim in 2000 when it won the prestigious London International String Competition. Comprised of Violinists Vera Martinez Mehner and Abel Tomas, Viola player Jonathan Brown and Cellist Arnau Tomas, Cuarteto Casals has toured internationally and played at some of the more iconic music venues including Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall and Cite de la Musique, in addition to maintaining residency at the Barcelona conservatory.
