The Five Man Electrical Band, previously known as The Staccatos from 1963 to 1968, is a Canadian rock band hailing from Ottawa, Ontario. Their music found great success in Canada, with several top 10 hits, such as "Half Past Midnight" in 1967 (recorded as The Staccatos), "Absolutely Right" in 1971, and "I'm a Stranger Here" in 1972. However, it was their 1971 hit single "Signs" that gained them international recognition. With its memorable lyrics and catchy melody, "Signs" became their most well-known song, leaving a lasting mark on the rock music scene.
