Vanessa Carlton is an American pop singer and pianist from Milford, Pennsylvania. Before she landed big success with her debut album Be Not Nobody in 2002, she was working as a waitress in Manhattan and playing smaller gigs in New York's clubs. International recognition followed the release of her song "Rinse" on the soundtrack for the TV series Charmed in 2003.
