Maria Mena

Born into an artistic family, Maria Mena, who was named after Maria from West Side Story, (her brother, Tony, was also named after the musical), begin writing music at a young age. By the age of 13, she had convinced her father to help her record a demo, which caught the attention of Sony Music. This jettisoned the young singer/songwriter into the limelight in her native Norway. Still going strong over a decade later, Mena is one of Norway's leading female pop stars.
