Free Energy is a band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that was founded in 2008 after members of a defunct emo band decided to start a new, power pop musical endeavor. Making an infectious style of music that has been compared to 1970s mainstays The Cars and Cheap Trick, Free Energy received a good amount of press in 2010 when it released its debut album, Stuck on Nothing, that was produced by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem.
