Fang Island

Formed in 2005 as an art project by students of the Rhode Island School of Design, Fang Island received its name from an Onion article about how Donald Rumsfeld had a secret vacation spot called "Fang Island." Since its formation, the band merged with a fellow Providence band, Daughters, and released its first full length in 2010. While the band doesn't necessarily produce the most mature or experimental music--nor does it intend to, since the band sums up its sound as "everyone high-fiving everyone"--it does produce undeniably catchy math rock that guarantees a party.
