The Little Ones, previously Sunday's Best, are a Los Angeles five-piece that suffers from the standard indie rock choke syndrome: when an up-and-coming band garners a huge amount of hype after its single or EP is released, but fails to live up to this hype and under the immense amount of pressure to create a stand-out album, cracks and produces poor to mediocre work. After The Little Ones released a single in 2006, the prominent label Astralwerks immediately signed the band. Next, the group was asked to open for Matt Costa, a self-proclaimed fan, on his tour. After this short taste of stardom however, the band lost its record contract. Forced to produce its debut album on its own, the band released a moderately acclaimed EP while producing enough funds to create a full length. When the debut full-length finally came in 2008, it was met with far from positive reviews, with many publications referring to the band as "indie kids doing karaoke." Despite this adherence to the choke syndrome, the band has not become discouraged and continues to create catchy jangle pop, attempting to win over fans around the world.
