Galleon, a French house group hailing from Marseille, was founded by Michel Fages and Phillippe Laurent, who later recruited Gilles Fahy as the lead vocalist. They made a notable entrance into the European dance scene in 2001 with their hit single "So I Begin," sung in English. The song, released by Sony Music/Radikal Records, sold an impressive 400,000 copies and reached number 36 on the UK Singles Chart. The accompanying music video featured the model Jitka Ogurekova. Following their initial success, Galleon released two more singles ("I Believe" in November 2001, "One Sign" in June 2002, and "The Way" in July 2002) and released their self-titled album, "Galleon," by the end of 2002.
