George Harrison was an English musician, singer-songwriter, and composer who was best known as the lead guitarist of the Beatles. He was also a prolific solo artist, releasing several albums throughout his career. His solo work included the albums All Things Must Pass, Living in the Material World, and Cloud Nine. He was also a member of the Traveling Wilburys, a supergroup that included Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, and Jeff Lynne. Harrison's music was heavily influenced by Indian classical music, and he was the first Beatle to embrace the sitar. He was also a pioneer in the use of slide guitar and was one of the first musicians to use the Moog synthesizer. His songwriting credits include "Something," "Here Comes the Sun," and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. George Harrison was a musical innovator and a major influence on the Beatles and the music of the 1960s.
