Harland Williams is a comedian from Canada who is probably best known for his appearances in films like Half Baked, Rocket Man and There's Something About Marry. With a characteristic odd-ball style, Williams started his career on the stand-up comedy circuit in Los Angeles, after moving to California from Toronto, and was soon noticed by talent scouts who offered him bit parts in films like Dumb and Dumber and Wag the Dog. After seeing his performances in these early releases, studio heads thought Williams had enough gumption to have leading roles in films, and he was soon staring in films of his own. Though his notoriety and film appearances have died down since his heyday in the late 1990s, Williams continues to perform this original love: stand-up; and constantly impress audiences with his unique style of humor.
