Kris Allen is an American singer/songwriter originally from rural Arkansas. He gained notoriety after winning the 8th season of American Idol, shortly thereafter releasing his debut album in 2009 with the hit single "Live Like We're Dying." The single proved to be a major success with huge sales that launched Allen's career.
