The Blues Preachers

The two musicians who call themselves The Blues Preachers might be a modern Australian band, but they could easily be confused for a pair of gospel blues musicians from the American South in the 1930s. With an evident love for that lost era, The Blues Preachers both look and sound as though they've been transported directly from the golden age of blues. Utilizing old-time musical instruments--including the harmonica, slide-guitar and banjo--the band borrows elements from honky tonk country, traditional Southern spirituals and Delta blues. The duo has found equal success in playing both classic and new material in this style, winning fans and multiple songwriting competitions along the way.
