Races is made up of six Los Angeles natives who began as an impromptu group for one performance only. The six members, formerly known as Black Jesus, realized their talent and continued on as a band to see what possibilities awaited them. They signed to Frenchkiss Records and released their debut self-recorded and self-produced album in the Spring of 2012. This group is an indie rock band with nostalgic overtones that offer a mellow feel, despite the strong guitar and drums. The lead singer, Wade Ryff, has a melancholic voice that suits the addictive chord progression and angsty vibes of the band.
