Widely considered one of the most influential rock musicians in Turkey, Edip Akbayram's music was banned in the 80s after the country's coup d'etat due to his lyrics' anti-right wing government nature. Part of the Anadolu rock movement, Akbayram is cited by many Turkish rock musicians today as one of their biggest inspirations.
