Forged in 2008 out of the ashes of several collapsed musical endeavors, Koan Sound is a four-piece DJ team based out of Bristol, UK. Taking its name from the zen Buddhist word dealing with spiritual reawakening, the band doesn't play Eastern influenced music like one might expect, but instead plays gritty dubstep and electronic dance music. With headlining sets at prominent clubs like Fabric, the group has quickly gained the attention of UK audiences, and with more touring, will likely gain exposure and fans worldwide.
