Manuel de Falla

Growing up in Spain in the late 1800's, Manuel de Falla was trained amongst classical composers and soon became an adept piano player as well as composer. As he started spending more time traversing the Spanish countryside, Manuel began to identify with his country's indigenous style of music more and more. These different Spanish music genres - specifically flamenco - had a drastic impact on the composer's writing style and soon he began to incorporate elements of these styles into his classical compositions. His blend of indigenous and impressionist styles warranted extremely interesting results and to this day he's considered one of the more important Spanish composers to have ever walked the circular land mass that many human beings refer to as earth.
