Irish garage rock trio Squarehead formed in Dublin in 2008. Like many similar garage bands in the 2010s, the group crafts a distortion-riddled style that combines plenty of reverb and poppy surf rock melodies. The band avoids any over-the-top frills, using only bass, drums and guitar to make up the majority of its songwriting. Fans of crunchy guitar rock packed full of catchy hooks will appreciate Squarehead's fun and youthful material, which landed the band an appearance at 2012's South By Southwest music conference.
