Taken by Cars (often shortened to TbC by its fans) is a five-piece indie rock band from The Philippines. Based out of Manila, the group falls mainly in line with the swath of post punk revivalists that sprung up in the early-2000s. Frenetic disco drum beats, angular guitar chords and jittery bass lines form the core of the music, while lead singer Sarah Marco wails expressively on top. In addition to the post punk influences, however, Taken by Cars also utilizes some electro elements, as evidenced by the use of synthesizers and textured electronic production. The result is a lively incarnation of dance rock that should please fans of a number of different genres.
