2:54 is an alternative rock band composed of sisters and London-based artists Colette and Hannah Thurlow. Born in Ireland and raised in Bristol, the two siblings dabbled in punk rock as teenagers before cultivated the grungy, shoegazing sound of 2:54 in 2010. Along with Joel Porter and Alex Robins, the band earned quick attention for its early string of moody, often heavy demos. After dropping its debut single, "On a Wire," with Fiction Records, the group collected a international following on tour with bands like Warpaint, Wild Beasts and The xx. 2:54 released its eponymous debut album, in 2012, before signing with the independent label Bella Union and releasing its sophomore effort, the 2014 LP The Other.
