Reggae has slipped into a state of disarray. There are so many posers pretending to be Rastafarian and making bad reggae that many have wondered what happened. Lucky there are a few of the original Jamaican bands (commonly referred to as the Old Guard) still around to keep people in place. Chaka Demus & Pliers is one such band and the group's rap sheet reads like a history of a great band: Jamaican origins, then mainstream success.
