The Gaslight Anthem

The New Jersey-based band The Gaslight Anthem is an alternative punk rock band that was formed in 2006. With punk and freak folk leanings, the band creates heartfelt tunes, often centered on the nostalgic glory days when their home state was one of the country's leading tourist destinations. After the release of its debut album Sink or Swim, in 2007, The Gaslight Anthem earned acclaim from independent and mainstream music media sources, sparking tours with high profile acts like Social Distortion. The band released its fourth studio album Handwritten, in 2012. The band announced that they would be going on an indefinite hiatus in 2015, reuniting only in 2018 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their second album The ’59 Sound with a reissue of the album including previous unreleased tracks and a live tour.
