Justin Hayward is a singer/songwriter and musician from England who is best known as the front-man and guitarist of the rock band The Moody Blues. After over a decade of playing and releasing music with The Moody Blues, he released his acoustically-driven debut album,Songwriter, in 1977 while his band was on what would be a four year hiatus. During this time, Hayward collaborated with various artists, including The Moody Blues bassist John Lodge, who he joined as a duo to drop the critically and commercially acclaimed album, Blue Jays, in 1975. Even though The Moody Blues reunited in 1977, Hayward continued to release his own folk-tinged material, from his 1980 studio album Night Flight, to 2013's Spirits of the Western Sky.
