Legendary emcee Daniel Dumile has survived nearly three decades in hip-hop since his debut in three-piece rap group KMD in New York's incipient days of hip-hop. After the sudden death of his brother and KMD group member Subroc, Dumile took a break from the music business before reinventing himself as MF Doom. Dumile's masterful lyrical ability and purist, original style take shape in this latest masked evolution. Based on the Marvel comic book character Doctor Doom, MF Doom is never seen or photographed without his metallic mask. MF Doom is considered to be one of the best MCs rapping and producing to date, having collaborated in a number of capacities with fellow hip-hop artists and beat-makers Danger Mouse, Madlib, King Geedorah, Ghostface Killah and Gorillaz. His music has also been produced through Cartoon Network's Adult Swim outlet. MF Doom passed away in 2021.
