Dresden born cellist Jan Vogler has had a fairly rapid-paced career, beginning his playing as the youngest concert master of the cello in Dresden, at age 20, a position he kept for 15 years. In 1997 he resigned this role to focus on his solo work and his upcoming collaborations with Lorin Maazel for the New York Philharmonic orchestra. Vogler also presents the Moritzburg Festival with other notable classical performers and began recording albums for Sony Music in 2003.
