The Steepwater Band

The Steepwater Band is a blues rock band from Chicago that was formed in 1998. Led by chief singer/songwriter and guitarist Jeff Massey, the group is named after a cargo vessel that Massey signed at a port on Lake Michigan. Spending its formative years on the Midwest club circuit, The Steepwater Band was properly able to hone its sound and refine its songwriting approach before releasing its debut album, Brother to the Snake, in 2001.
