Inspired by 1970s era rock music and painted with experimental tones, Echoes de Luxe is a progressive rock band from Los Angeles. After releasing its debut EP, the three-piece band caught the attention of Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro, who began playing Echoes de Luxe tracks on his Los Angeles-based indie radio station. As the band began to build notoriety by playing shows and live radio sessions, it was ready to record new material but found itself without money for studio or production costs. Echoes de Luxe decided to record its next effort in their rehearsal studio using do-it-yourself recording materials such as 4-track cassette recorders. The resulting record was titled The NotreMonde Demos and was released as a free download in 2010.
