The Quireboys is a hard rock band from London that creates a glam fusion of blues rock and hair metal. Initially formed in 1984 as The Queerboys. The band adopted its chosen namein the late 1980s before releasing its debut album, A Bit of What You Fancy, in 1990 with EMI records. The record earned the band national tours and gigs with bands such as The Cramps, Iggy Pop and The Rolling Stones, but as The Quireboys made its way into the mid-1990s, with a sound much more fanciful than the burgeoning grunge movement, its music was largely ignored by mainstream audiences. The band pushed forward with a dedicated following, surviving the 1990s and continuing to release more of its hard rock music on records including Beautiful Curse, which was released in 2013 with The Quireboys' long time label, Jerkin Crocus.
