Based in Washington, D.C. The Evens is an indie rock duo with post punk leanings. Comprised of Ian MacKaye from Minor Threat, Teen Idles and Fugazi, as well as Amy Farina of The Warmers, Ted Leo and The Pharmacists, the duo became a full-time project when Fugazi entered an indefinite hiatus in 2003. The Evens released its self-titled album in 2003 on MacKaye's Dischord Records. With a sound referred to as post-post hardcore for its alternative punk/post hardcore elements, The Evens continues to steadily release material including the 2012 studio album, The Odds.
