Roller Trio is a neo-jazz group comprised of James Mainwaring on tenor sax, Luke Wynter on guitar and Luke Reddin-Williams on drums--three individuals who met one another whilst all studying at Leeds College of Music. Able to interject an almost avant-garde sensibility into its forward-thinking jazz approach, the group has been turning heads on the English jazz circuit with its provocative and engaging live shows. Roller Trio released its self-titled debut album in 2012 and it was nominated for the Barclycard Mercury Prize, proving to many that while jazz may not be as influential as it once was, it is nevertheless a pertinent and appropriate style of music that's well suited for today's multifaceted music world.
