1789: Les Amants de la Bastille is a musical that takes place in Paris at the height of the French Revolution. Created by Rod Janois, Jean-Pierre Pilot, Olivier Schultheis, William Rousseau and Dove Attia, it premiered at the Palais des Sports in Paris in 2012. Two lovers fight to stay together against the odds and along the way encounter iconic characters of the French Revolution, including Denton, Robespierre and Desmoulins. The story comes to a frenetic climax on July 14, at the fall of the famous Bastille prison.
