Latin pop luminary Gloria Estefan is a singer/songwriter and actress who has captivated a massive international following through her uplifting pop hits. She got her start in the group Miami Sound Machine and rose to fame with the song "Conga," in 1985. Setting the tone for her career, the song became a cross-over hit and she was subsequently dubbed The Queen of Latin Pop. Despite suffering through a nearly fatal tour bus accident in 1990, Estefan continued to break ground with a comeback album titled Into the Light, which she released a year later in 1991.
