Iceland experiences days of total light during certain parts of the year and days of near total darkness during others. This occurrence undoubtedly effects the moral stance of many individuals living in Iceland. It, therefore, must also effect the music that's created in the country. Case in point: FM Belfast. The group makes a unique style of electronic infused pop music that seems to speak to the very nature of Iceland's constant battle of light vs. dark. Managing to incorporate elements of major-key instrumentals that are bright and inviting with dismal lyrics that pander to oppressed individuals, FM Belfast has gone over well in its home country and with more time given to the group, to let its music seep into the ears of European and North American indie music connoisseurs, it'll surely prove to be a worthy band to track and see perform in a live setting.
