Originally the boyfriend-girlfriend duo of Aimee Argote and Tim Herzog, Des Ark first started making quirky, off-kilter indie rock with country twang back in 2005. When Argote and Herzog split, however, Argote refused to let go of the band and continued solo, often with friends backing her and often performing by herself. Though the lineup was completely inconsistent for years, Argote built a fervent fan base in her native Philadelphia and throughout the Northeast, finally solidifying a new band lineup in 2008. The now trio tours worldwide and has continued to win over audiences with its offbeat charm.
