Ariana Gillis is a singer/songwriter from Hamilton, Ontario who made her debut in 2009 when she self-released her debut album, To Make it Makes Sense. Having won several awards that year for the LP, including the Canadian Folk Music Award for Young Performer of the Year as well as the Niagara Music Award for Songwriter of the year, Gillis managed to firmly establish herself on the expansive Canadian music scene. Following up with 2012's Forget Me Not, a more lyrically deep and instrumentally terse album, Gillis proved herself as a capable songwriter who isn't afraid wearing her heart on her sleeve and writing songs about her own personal evolution and her issues with maturity.
