Sweden's answer to America's The Backstreet Boys, Barbados is a 5-piece boy band that sings romantic ballads or upbeat dance anthems full of harmonies in the band's native tongue. Formed in 1992, the group gained fame after participating in Melodifestivalen, taking second place in 2000 and ranking highly the many other times the band competed. Though the group has changed its lead singer, and consequently its image three times, Barbados has continued to be popular in Sweden, charting regularly.
