Julianna Barwick

Julianna Barwick is a singer from Brooklyn, New York who effectively loops and layers her often wordless vocals to create haunting choir-like tracks. While Barwick occasionally uses a piano in songs to accompany her primary instrument--her voice, which she uses as both a percussive and a melodic instrument. The result is a spiritual sound that has garnered her a contract with Sufjan Stevens' label, Asthmatic Kitty, as well as a solid following throughout the US.
