If someone unfamiliar with the background story of English blues-rock band The Cubical gave a listen to a few of the group's songs, he might be inclined to think the band is comprised of a bunch of aging American rockers who've called Georgia or Alabama home their whole lives and whose musical icons are Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry. This assumption couldn't be further from the truth though, because the five young lads who comprise The Cubical come from the rural English countryside and have a self proclaimed love of 60s-era British music like psychedelic rock and British blues. Releasing its debut LP, Come Sing These Crippled Tunes, in 2009 helped establish the group as a no-frills modern blues troupe comprised of a gruff-voiced lead singer who belts out his vocals next to instrumentalists who aren't afraid to look to the past for musical inspiration.
