Brother-sister duo Daniel and Sarah Spencer began making music together in 2006. The siblings quickly recruited two other Brisbane, Australia locals and dubbed their new band Blank Realm. Together, Blank Realm creates hazy, heat-soaked noise-scapes that reflect the environment of the band's native city. While the band's lo-fi experimentation may not have quickly caught on in the city it sonically mimicked, it did find a fan base in Los Angeles, a city with a fairly similar landscape. After signing to the LA-based record label Not Not Fun, the group has only continued to build an audience on the American West Coast.
