Originally an actual trio, Garage A Trois was initially made up of founding members Charlie Hunter (guitar), Stanton Moore (drums) and Skerik (saxophone). Garage A Trois is now actually four members, as guitarist Charlie Hunter left the band after the first two albums. Adding prolific organ player Marc Benevento, Garage A Trois' third album Power Patriot was the band's first album recorded with Benevento. The music of Garage A Trois has explored many different strains of jazz and rock music, though always instrumental in nature and complex in song structure. The band likes to experiment with improvisation in their live sets, a musical quality that exists on their recorded material as well; their song structures so multi-faceted they can seem impromptu.
