The side project of boyfriend-girlfriend duo, Eddie Argos of Art Brut and Dyan Valdés of The Blood Arm, Everybody Was In the French Resistance...Now! was formed on a 2007 road trip in California. Somewhat of a concept band, the duo writes songs that are responses to famous pop songs, representing a different perspective on the lyrical content-- the viewpoint of "Jimmy Mack" in the song of the same name by Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, or the child of "Billy Jean" in Michael Jackson's hit. Argos' British wit sung in a manner reminiscent of the UK grime genre, coupled with Valdés' indie folk harmonies creates a contrast that has impressed critics and fans alike.
