Brooke Fraser

Although not as well known in the United States as in her native New Zealand, Brooke Fraser has opened up for such high profile acts as John Mayer and David Bowie for whole legs of their tours in Australia. She started writing songs while she was in middle school, eventually teaching herself a variety of instruments and releasing her debut album What to Do with Daylight in 2003. The record went seven times platinum in her home country and appeared on the charts for over 63 weeks straight, making her one of New Zealand's most prominent musicians.
