Formerly of Austin, Texas bands Sound Team and Sunset, Bill Baird began writing solo music under his given name in 2008. Unable to settle on one genre, Baird shifts from highly experimental drone music, to baroque pop to classic folk singer - occasionally all in the same song. After having negative experiences with major record labels and the national press with his band Sound Team, Baird has since preferred the DIY method of releasing music and generally produces a limited number of CDs or vinyl with handmade booklets that include details about how he made each song, drawings and photography. While Baird has no intention of achieving mainstream acceptance, he is nonetheless a highly talented and diverse musician who isn't afraid to cultivate experimentation in many musical genres.
