Database is an electro and house duo from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Lucio Morais and Yuri Chix first met as childhood friends, eventually partnering up in 2005 to collaborate on tracks sparked by their mutual admiration of electronic music and French house groups liek Daft Punk and Cassius. The duo's first collection of released tracks in 2008 led to a remixing commission from Fatboy Slim, which in turn led to the group frequently being sought after to rework several artists' tracks. The twosome's blend of house beats mixed with laid-back synth work and live instrumentation has resonated with Brazilian electronic fans, and has recently began to be noticed abroad as well.
