Miami-based musician Fernando Perdomo started his solo progressive pop project, Dreaming in Stereo, in 2009. Writing every song and playing every instrument on its recording, the self-titled debut LP is full of catchy pop songs that touch on glossy rock n' roll, power pop and string-laden ballads. Each song is presented in a tidy, readily-accessible package that makes it seem obvious that Perdomo's aim was set firmly on the target of radio airplay and widespread success. Acknowledging that the solo structure wouldn't be ideal in a live setting, he pieced a band together in 2010, including Dave Torre (guitar), Vincent Cuevas (bass), Eddie Zyne (drums) and Marisol Garcia, whose Wurlitzer electric piano playing and backing vocals seem to be the group's secret weapon. With the new lineup intact, Dreaming in Stereo has taken to the road, where its efforts have been rewarded with appearances at several music festivals across the country.
