Grimy Styles

There's a tradition going back to the beginning of dub music, starting with artists like King Tubby and Mad Professor, of taking reggae songs and remixing them into nearly unrecognizable jams full of space-aged psychedelia. Austin, Texas-based Grimy Styles takes the idea of the dub remix, translates it to a live setting and applies it to a diverse musical selection ranging from jazz to classical and everything in between. The result is music that, while always firmly rooted in the world of dub reggae, is as sonically adventurous as anything else out there.
