Monahans

Monahans is an experimental indie pop band from Austin, Texas that derives its namesake from the desolate sand hills of western Texas, a landscape which also informs the band's atmospheric brand of music. The bandmates describe their music as a unique combination of pop anthems, balladry and thundering rhythms that results in a brand of music they call "landscape rock." Although the band is an experimental offshoot of the decidedly more well-known musical project Milton Mapes, Monahans is already looking to become one of Austin's foremost experimental pop bands.
